I was shocked and angry to hear about the untimely demise of Imatron. I want you all to know that you have my deepest sympathy and support, especially those of you who were not planning to be unemployed at this time. Having devoted over 20 years of my life to what has become EBT, I feel a great sense of loss and I share your distress. Not only has GE deprived you of your livelihood at a time when unemployment is rampant, but they appear to have denied to the general public a diagnostic tool with unique potential. I believe that their Lightspeed can never equal EBT in cardiac imaging capability and to the best of my knowledge their Stationary CT project faces formidable technological problems. We already gave them "Stationary CT". It's called EBT. Be proud of the fact that you have participated in the development of a device which has already saved people's lives. I sincerely hope that you will soon find some other worthwhile employment. |
