I worked at Imatron of south San Francisco Ca a zillion years ago. I was just wondering things were going for you and had a few spare cycles. Since evelyn is on this forum this probably is the same Imatron. Just curious what happened |

I came to work at Imatron four years ago so by then you had already left. My perception of what happened is as follows: About 2 1/2 years ago GE bought Imatron. We proceeded to get the next generation e-Speed system ready for production which we feel we had a reasonable product working at 3-4 beta sites. At the "blessing" meeting of the sign-off GE reported dismal sales forecasts so they decided to reduce the support staff at the So. San Francisco facility down to a skeleton crew. I think about 250 were affected. D-day was Jan. 27th of 2004. A number of people in all areas of responsibility are still looking for positions at this time because the job market is still down so if you have any leads for them, I am sure they will be greatful. Copart in fairfield has some opportunties, only problem is they only hire people within a 30 minute drive of work.
